Cerro Castillo Mountain Guides is a professional mountain guides company based in the small town of Villa Cerro Castillo in the Aysen region of Chilean Patagonia.
We have been exploring and living in Patagonia for more than 20 years and we believe the Cerro Castillo area combines all the beauty and marvels of Patagonia. The region’s history is very recent and its population still shares strong pioneer values. People are hard living, show great solidarity and are extremely self reliant. Nature is still pristine and we are totally committed to keep it that way, minimizing our
environmental impact. The region is not as famous – or crowded – as El Chalten or the Torres del Paine which makes it an very privileged place for outdoor adventure and exploration. The Cerro Castillo National Reserve is a typically alpine area although altitudes are moderate, the highest peaks no higher than 2600m.The Balmaceda airport is only 65km away from our base by tarred road, facilitating communications and logistics. The town of Villa Cerro Castillo is the main access to the great Northern Patagonian Ice Cap, Cerro San Valentin, Cerro San Lorenzo and the Cordillera Avellano, amongst others. Cerro Castillo Mountain Guides is therefore perfectly located to access to these wonderful areas of nature and adventure.

We offer mountaineering, trekking and climbing adventures for all levels : rock climbing, ice climbing, alpine ascents, scenic treks and serious expeditions to more remote and austere corners. Our aim is to help you discover traditional culture of Patagonia, its people and its uncomparable natural treasures.

Depending on the nature and technical requirements of the program our guides are either qualified mountain guides from the Aysen Regional Guides School or IFMGA
qualified mountain guides (International Federation of Mountain Guides Association).
